Received many quotes and calls within the first hour. Sourced a removalist through here and had an exceptional experience, from quotation to completion. This made life very easy! It also closed my request once I had received many quotes which was great as I did get lots of calls!

I found this site helpful compared to past experiences in a competitive industry. I had seven quotes within 30 minutes and a range of options. My one complaint was receiving multiple emails from 4 of the businesses who had submitted quotes, even after I had thanked them after the first followup and explained that I had chosen a different business. The emails still kept coming which was extremely annoying. It would help if Find a Mover could prevent this once a quote has been accepted.

The service technically helped me find movers quickly, but the overall experience was honestly awful. Posting a job is unnecessarily tedious. You are expected to estimate the amount of every single box and item before you have even finished packing. Completely impractical and irritating. But the real issue is privacy!! I assumed my phone number and email were requested for an account creation purposes and might only be revealed to the moving company I actually chose. Instead, my contact details were apparently shared with everyone one and their dog (aka every moving company on the platform)! Even AFTER my job was marked as booked, I kept receiving spam calls for days from random movers starting at 7am. I work night shifts, so this became a sleepless nightmare very quickly. What’s worse is that the movers who did provide me with a quote initially, kept telling me they couldn’t even see that the job had already been booked. There was also no proper option or tool for me to manually deny or cancel them on my dashboard. I find it completely unacceptable that my personal contact information was distributed to random companies I never selected and never consented to deal with.

I used Find a Mover to help me decide quickly which removalists will do a long distance cross-city move between Hervey Bay and the Gold Coast. I promptly received many quotes and I short listed three. I chose Gold Coast A Team Removals and it was the best choice I made. The company is the only one that provided a checklist for me to give them an idea of the quantity and type of furniture to be moved. This shows proactivity and thorough preparation on their part and the list gives them a better idea of how much to quote me. It was a fixed price quote, and there was no overtime charge. The price they quoted me was the best quote that I received among the three shortlists. At first I thought perhaps I should not go for the cheapest, in case the quality is poor. But when I read the fine prints of the second company with a middle quote, I realised there were potentially rooms for them to overcharge me because of the 'overtime' provision, and the freebies (such as shrink-wrapping and assembly/disassembly of furniture) that the middle quote offered me were unnecessary services that could only add to 'overtime' charges. The highest quote was 40% more expensive than Gold Coast A Team Removals so they were out of my consideration. The disassembly of beds and lounges were made very easy because Nathan provided the right tools and instructions for us to do it ourselves. They loaded the truck with our other furniture while we unscrewed the nuts. It was an easy job even for someone like us who are not handy and who do not want to have to buy the tools just for this purpose. Both Nathan and Avril communicated with us promptly when we asked extra questions, such as if they do pot plant and gym equipment and what sort of help do we get with bed disassembly. They took great care with the pot plant and the gym equipment, not to mention all the other furniture and electrical appliances. I would like to give Nathan, Avril and Matt a big thank-you. They have provided us with a hassle-free house-moving experience. They were proficient yet friendly and helpful. I am definitely going to use them again and I have no hesitation in recommending them to you. You will find the best value for money here.
