Tasmanian Furniture Transport

The lady in the office, lovely, the guys who delivered my goods, amazing, friendly, helpful etc. The boss (I assume) Nathan, gets the one star! I would never use them again or recommend them purely because of him. A text message at 5.29pm Thursday to say my goods are coming the next day between 8-10am, when you are a single person who works full time, just over 12 hours notice, and not within business hours is not acceptable. There was a text exchange back and forth, telling me to ‘handle’ it. I contact my boss outside of hours, get the go ahead to start late, message Nathan to say it’s sorted, his response was, he’s changed the run sheet now and doesn’t know if they can come tomorrow. I asked when will he know…..no response! Next morning, still nothing from Nathan so I drive 40 minutes to the property to be there by 8am, wait until after 8am and message him to ask if they are coming today as I’d taken time off work. He eventually responds with ‘delivery will be Monday’, 3 days away. You can’t tell me he didn’t know that the night before but instead chose not to share the information. Considering I received a message on Sunday at 9.25am to give me the delivery times for the Monday, I’m astounded that the same information wasn’t available on the Thursday before 5.29pm. I understand they need to make the delivery but they need to understand people work and not everyone has someone who can just sit at the property for hours waiting for them to turn up. Monday came, delivery window 12-3pm, at 2.30pm I message Nathan asking how far away they were, no response. Waited until after 3, called the office , got another guy who said he’d find out, called back after half an hour, said they were still 20 minutes away. Truck arrives after 4.

Expensive! Found these guys quoted really expensive. Shopping around for a 4 hour job including travel time and they quoted me $410 per hour. All the other quotes were less than half that price. Just to clarify this review, we contacted 4 companies by phone to ask if they were interested in our smaller job, all 4 said yes. We submitted identical details to each, this included volume, property access and travel time from Launceston. We were not seeking a budget service, we were looking for experienced professionals with proper equipment, to work efficiently and carefully. And that is exactly what we got at less than half the price of TFT.

Please do not use this business! They must only survive on people like me who went through a third-party moving company and are given no choice for who receives the shipment at the other end. They will NEVER call you back after they promise to. The manager could not care less about the delivery and is patronising when queried on the most reasonable request. If you’ve been unlucky enough to get stuck with this company, then my advice is to never stop calling to check on your shipment, even before the due date, to make sure they’ve bothered to start the job yet.

I had a really positive experience with Tasmania Furniture Transport. I moved from my unit in Melbourne to a home in Tasmania. The pricing was extremely competitive and the move was efficient. My items arrived in 8 business days, and nothing was damaged. The ONLY thing would be that at the arrival location, the workers trod dirt through 4-day old freshly laid carpet. So just make sure they lay down the matts prior. They were then good in laying all the matts down and he was honest in pointing out the marks. I was able to buy a wet and dry vacuum and get the marks out. I had been hesitant with the reviews through - but really did have a positive experience and glad I chose them. Lisa is also a delight in the office! Made it a really stress free move. Would recommend and if I move again or move interstate again they'll be the first ones I'll call.

Used these guys yesterday for a local house move in Launceston in the rain and they were amazing! Moved a 4 bedroom/2 lounge-room house worth of HEAVY furniture and a heap of boxes and i couldn’t fault them! Really nice guys that took great care of/with all our things! Nothing was damaged at all and they really helpful putting everything where we wanted it in the new house. Would absolutely recommend them to anyone!

I recently had 9 boxes & a chair sent from Gold Coast to Cygnet in Tasmania on a backload. Their quote was excellent compared to others. Their attention to detail, communication and delivery could not have been better. Considering all the stages my shipment went through to get there I am most grateful and would be very happy to use them again should the need arise. Thank you Tas Furniture Transport.
