Roy and Suk, amazing boys helped very much quick and respectful. Only problem was with Wendy the operator.

Edited to add: They phoned last night to enquire what had happened and I explained as below. They then asked me to take this review down, then the deposit will be returned. I explained I will edit the review once the money was back in my account, not before. They phoned back again to hassle me to retract this review and check if the funds had been returned - and proceeded to make excuses of 'we would never take money for services we didn't provide' rather than apologise for the lack of transparency. I did get the refund but I will leave this review up for future customers to be aware. --- Absolute lack of candor. They gave a massively incorrect quote - I was quoted 150 dollars in writing, then advised it is 470 when I phoned to to check on my booking. They then asked for more money as a deposit - given the higher actual price - to confirm my booking on a set date (a specific Friday). Then proceeded to disclose on a follow up call after I paid the deposit that they only deliver on Tuesdays and Thursdays - which does not suit us, and I would not have booked with them had they been clear that they are unable to offer the specific dates I requested. They have, over the phone, advised they will refund my deposit but I am waiting to see if this actually eventuates. Attached photo of the total quote they gave.

We booked a job with Shift Buddies to move a 2 bedroom unit from the Sunshine Coast to Lawnton at midday on a Friday. When booking, we were asked what size house/apartment we were moving, we said a 2 bedroom unit. We were not asked for any other details. On the Thursday evening (the night before the job) we were contacted to advise the arrival time was being changed to 3pm. We were not given any choice. The truck did not show up until after 6pm, and when we had called in the afternoon to check why they had not arrived, our job could not be found in the system. When the drivers arrived with a 4 tome truck that already had someone else’s belonging on it, we were advised by the drivers that the truck that had been booked was too small, so the job could not be completed that day. We were blamed for the wrong truck being booked, even though we had never been asked about the quantity of things being moved, only the number of bedrooms. One of the drivers had another job to go to that night, so they said that our belonging would sit on the truck overnight and be delivered in the morning (we were given a time from 8am to 9am and then it was changed to 9am to 10am) They said the remainder of our belongings would then be picked up and delivered the next day (Saturday). We were not given a choice about this. On Saturday morning, the driver contacted us to say they had another job to go to first and they would not be dropping off the first load until 11:50am. We explained that would not work as we had to be out that night. The driver assured us that the job would be completed by 5pm. We were again given no choice. The drivers showed up at midday and by 6pm, they finally finished loading the second load and advised that they could not deliver it that night because they had worked too many hours already that day. They advised they would drop off the second load at midday the next day (Sunday). So our belongings would sit on a truck for another night. We then went to the storage unit where the first load was dropped off the previous day and the boxes have been stacked completely haphazardly and found at least one box marked Fragile that had been placed upside down on the bottom of a stack of boxes. Other boxes were bowing because they’d been stacked on their side. The drivers then advised that they were running late again and would be dropping off the final load at 12:30. When they did drop off the final load, my father waited for them to finish and could not believe how slowly they were moving. We also realised that they had left someone else belonging in the walkway of the storage units overnight, as they then proceeded to load them back on the truck after our belongings had been unloaded. When we tried to speak to someone about the issues with this job, we were unable to reach anyone and, when we finally did, the staff were so rude. Finally we spoke with a Manager and one of the drivers lied and tried to gaslight me about the conversations we’d had. We have used Shift Buddies in the past, but it is now owned by a different owner and the entire operation has become so dodgy and unprofessional. This is the most unprofessional experience we have ever had with a removal company.

Brett and his partner were great to work with, professional and efficient, with a bit of fun banter. Great value movers. Would recommend and would call them again. And Thanks to Raj for setting up the booking on short notice.

Would never use this company again. Had to ask them multiple times not to drag our furniture along the concrete driveway. Once at our new premise, we had to continually ask them to be careful and slow down as they were banging furniture into the walls and architraves - nearly tearing the handles off our fridge trying to push it through a doorway despite my husband asking them to stop so he could remove the handles first they continued, scraping paint, scratching the fridge and taking pieces out of the wall. The majority of our furniture is now scratched or with drag marks, including a drawer which was completely destroyed by one of them forcibly removing it, as well as damage to the freshly painted rental we have just moved into. When trying to discuss with the owner, he became hostile towards me, when my husband tried to deal with him instead and he just blocked my husband's number so he was unable to call or message.

We have used shift buddies many times and found they were on time, courteous and extremely affordable. Matt and the guys have always been there for both the small and large moves and nothing is too hard. Totally recommend them. I have used them for both small and large moves as well as dump runs.
