4.7 / 5 · 152 totalWe used Kent removalists for majority of the 27 years of moving about Australia. It all started with a QLD to QLD suburban move around. Did our first QLD to Melbourne around 2012. Initially the most expensive which I don’t think broke 10k. Since then bounced from state to state - NSW, ACT, VIC to finally do a move this year from VIC to QLD as the person I’m living with has retired and now on the age pension. We paid $14.5K to get the stuff from VIC to QLD in storage as this was the first time we had no “destination property” to send it straight to. It took us a month and a half of cancelled inspections (people kept jumping queue and leasing places before we even got a chance to view) and unsuccessful application's kicking us to the curb. About $9,000 later in petrol (4 hours back and forth most days), food and hotels we finally found a place. Received the invoice for the storage to property leg of the move and been slapped with an additional 4.3K added costs (with the possibility of additional costs of the movers go into overtime.” The fact that there’s a $2.5K price tag just to get it out of storage, kilometres costs on top of that and other money milking costs has driven me to just pay them what they want and flat out refuse any further business with the company now. The guy I’m living with is retired and gets only $1223 p/ft I’m his carer and only getting $1550 p/ft and this move has finally crippled me. This price range is ridiculous. I’ll gladly put in the costs for all the other moves we did from them since 2018 as attachments. Update 29/05/2026 We arrived at our new property. On arrival, two 1000 dvd silver aluminium cases were effectively destroyed when they were either in storage, or unpacked. I had to buy two new ones to replace those broken ones. We had paid around $2319 for insurance for breakages. The cost of the two replacement cases were $152. Because they were under $500 Kent declined re-embursing us the cost. We spent about $20,000 for the move an additional $2319 insurance. They would not pay us the small amount it cost me to rebuy the cases. In all honesty, I have 5 of these cases. Two were completely destroyed, all of them had their handles broken off so theoretically they had broken 5 cases. I am only trying to claim for two. To top that off, our tv cabinet had 4 clips holding a glass shelf in it, three of those clips are missing since the move. I could be claiming for the whole unit since they lost parts of it.. that was worth $699 total, but I didn't. I have filled in a form to Fair Trading and submitted that. I am considering on contacting a lawyer and seeing what can be done. We spent in effect $25,000 total for the relocation, storage and insurance. $152 should NOT be an issue. Our move with Grace, they broke some items and they honoured all the costs for those items. Kent has just turned nasty with their service mostly the admin side. Attachments included. We had the guys from Kent removals & storage deliver our furniture on 12 May. Couldn’t have asked for better guys. Daniel & BJ were the best. Friendly and easy to talk to. They did a great job.
Matt N, Leo and Gabriel and Gus recently packed and completed our uplift. I cannot give them a high enough number of stars!! They worked so hard on a hot day and a big job, and they remained cheerful, helpful and super courteous all day. Well done boys, you are champions!!
Absolutely 💯 % 5 star + fabulous service from Sunshine Coast Team, Kent Removalist, Gabriel, Matt E and Jay who picked up our belongings and packed them into a container to be shipped to our new destination. We are so grateful to have been blessed with 3 strong and professional men who were polite, on time and extremely helpful and supportive during this difficult time for us. We are truly grateful and extremely thankful and happy.
Daniel and BJ did my move. They were excellent - quick, friendly and so positive. Nothing was too difficult. They helped pull my bed apart and then put it back together. Couldn’t recommend them more and if I have to move again in Sunshine Coast, I’ll definitely request these lads!
