Andrew Mathers Removals & Storage

I used Andrew Mathers Removals a few years back and it's interesting to read more recent reviews where people have had the same horrible experiences as I had. There were 3 young guys doing the job. They came in the morning. The truck driver absolutely reeked of alcohol - definitely well 'over the legal limit'. Another one of the guys was sullen and uncommunicative. The three of them carried on very loud and sometimes unsavoury conversations while outside at the truck. On a positive note, they didn't damage my furniture, but did break a glass lamp. Upon arrival at my new home I was asked to pay an amount which was more than double the quote I had been given. I wasn't able to argue, as the guys told me with great glee, that unless paid immediately they weren't going to unload my belongings. I had delicate items, labelled 'fragile' and equipment labelled 'this side up'. I later found those items stacked any old how under a mountain of heavier boxes - and upside down! I found out much later that some of my stuff was missing, and could only have been stolen during the move. Other reviewers have mentioned having that same experience. I was definitely scammed price-wise when the truck arrived at the new home, and I had no choice but to pay up. I remember the 3 young guys enjoying that whole scenario, elbowing one another and snickering amongst themselves. I would NEVER use this company again!

This company has been amazing to deal with. Amanda has made the whole process very easy. The guys who came to pack up were professional and organized. They repacked anything they were concerned wouldn't travel well. I would highly recommend this company for your removals

I recently used Mathers to move from Howrah, then into storage for 5 weeks before I can get into my new Villa Unit. This is a downsizing exercise. Mathers turned up on time with sufficient number of removalists to undertake the assignment. They were all introduced. Well dressed and ready for work. The Supervisor was courteous, engaging and knowledgeable and when I took him through the two levels of the house he asked relevant questions and then explained to his crew the plan of attack. They worked quickly and calmly to pack all items into two containers. They were careful with my furniture and belongings and adopted safe and efficient work practices and were caring of my worldly belongings. Overall they made the move as easy as these things can be. Polite and courteous.

We recently moved house with Mathers Removalists - this was our third time over the last 33 years we have used this company and each time have had a great experience. On this move from the first contact, the quoting phase and then the big day there was complete professionalism and friendly service all at a very competitive price. The removalists on the day were great, taking care with every item. An additional 2 members joined at our new property and did and amazing job getting a large fridge upstairs. Fantastic care and attention for my recent move and storage. The attention to detail to ensure all items were wrapped protectively in plastic (lounge, bed, chairs) so they will be secure during storage was much appreciated. The two staff took great care moving items up and down stairs without damaging anything and were on time and efficient (even on a rainy day!). Thank you so much, will definitely be using again and happy to recommend.

Mathers did a fantastic job recently at packing our belongings into a container ready for us to move interstate. The guys took their time and care to wrap everything and all arrived in one piece at the other end. The guys that did the unpacking of the container were also very careful and did an amazing job, taking care of our belongings and our house.
